Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor, and the Good people of the State of Mississippi:

In reference to the MS Court of Appeals to rule on the TYLER EDMONDS CASE………..

I sincerely would like to hope and speak to the good people of Mississippi, that YOU will never forget TYLER EDMONDS, and those who support him, to please Speak up in his defense, make your voices heard for the child and the injustices bestowed upon him, clearly “influenced” by his sister, whom he loved, respected very much, believing and looked up to her.

To try and sentence a 13 yr old boy AS AN ADULT, to life in prison with possibly parole at 65 is CRUEL and INHUMANE.

"In Mississippi, the law is that if you commit a crime that carries life (sentence), and you use a deadly weapon and you're 13 or over, you're an adult," Clark said.”

This is gross negligence of our nation’s children in the present day laws all across this nation, children cannot be an adult, they just do not have the brain development yet, and are still growing until in their early twenties. Why does this nation have a “juvenile justice” system, if authorities are not going to use it for it’s nation’s juveniles?

ALL children under the age of 18 are JUVENILES, by state statures, except in a few states.

Tyler’s sentencing was in fact a direct “violation” of the constitutional amendment rights in reference to CRUEL AND INHUMANE TREATMENT.

A judge who was so clearly biased in this case and his dislike of the defense attorney ,

A judge who DENIED this child justice, by NOT allowing the defense attorney to present expert testimony so pertinent and crucial to Tyler’s case.

A judge that told this child “I think she (Kristi Fulgham) led you into something you didn't want to do, now you've got to live with it."

The judge’s statement above “indicates” this child was “influenced” by an ADULT, his sister.

A day must come to this child, for truth and justice, to come forth and set this child FREE to go home to his mother where he belongs!!!!

The victims in this case are certainly not forgotten, but Tyler, a child of only 13 yrs of age, was also, indeed a "victim"!, a victim of “injustice”

The voice of Mississippi must be heard in the name of justice for this “child”
